The latest Jeep Grand Cherokee (WK) was release in mid 2011 in Australia as an all new model. We think the latest model is one of the nicest looking SUV on the market.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is a directly competitor to the Kulger not the Prado but due to size and pricing we've decided to compare them on this site. The 2011 Grand Cherokee is a new direction of Jeep in the SUV class and uses the Kulger's design basis of conservative but modern looks with modern interior design.  Even the dimensions are very similar except for its weight which comes in around 200Kg more than the Kluger.

When we checked out the latest Grand Cherokee we were impressed that Jeep had improved the design and quality of materials. It is not the best but it is no longer embarrassing. Definitely a model you should look at if shopping in the price range.

Jeep Grand Cherokee
VS
150 Toyota LandCruiser Prado

The interior layout and design of the Grand Cherokee mimics the Kulger so no complaints. However the dashboard and steering wheel design remind us of any number of Mazda's.

The exterior of Grand Cherokee is conservative yet is not unattractive - it does look good on the road - better than the pictures. Again the design reminds of of a number of models especially the Suzuki Grand Vitara! It is not an ugly car and makes a nice change to some new models we've seen to date.

The mechanical and engine specifications look great but it is a heavy weight ie. carries extra weight. Some could argue that it is stronger as a result but in reality it is probably other factors you can guess.

We are however unlikely to consider one due to Jeep's history even though this one is made in Austria! You may if you like the V8 version or being different. See below for the key specification comparisons.
