Updated : 08 January 2009 So welcome to my learner motorcycle, low capacity and scooter reviews website! NEW: LAMS - Learner Approved Motorcycles Scheme High fuel prices (2008) are making the lower capacity end of the motorcycle market increasingly desirable. Traditionally Europe and its cities are the home for low capacity motorcycle and scooters. I dare say - judging from prior visits the roads laws seem to favour these small two wheeled machines greater than cars. In the same countries petrol has always been very expensive! With millions of people crammed into a small space and roads built for horse and carriage scooters and motorcycles are a very efficient way of moving people about. Only now other countries have discovered this. In Non-European countries like Australia and North America the low capacity models are regarded as learner motorcycles. Even I regard anything under 600cc low capacity... It is all relative because a 250cc motorcycle is actually high capacity in places like Indonesia, India and China. A small engine does not mean low performance or entertainment. They allow new riders to master motorcycle handling and road sense far easier and safer than the larger motorcycles. For experienced riders these little bikes offer fuel economy and pure fun. Note that since writing the page I was surprised that 3 of the motorcycles I have ridden over a decade ago are still available new! So finally my version of a 'one stop shop' for choosing your first motorcycle. Yep, I've put together all the current 250cc motorcycles or learner motorcycles you can get for this year (Brand New) in this series of web pages. It's here to help you research specifications, view some pictures and read about my opinion to these bikes. Remember you should get opinions from other sites before making your own judgements. Why this site? almost all motorcycle manufacturers sites as so hard to navigate with inappropriate use of the web's features that it really makes you wonder who authorized them in the first place. EG. I don't want to spend 30 minutes downloading the latest browser plug-in then spend the next 30 minutes waiting for the stupid site to download and realize it doesn't improve my web experience. Another thing - I want to see big pictures of the motorcycle in question not small pictures - it simply indicates your brand is just not interested in my money. Lastly I will always encourage others to do their own website to write about their own experiences don't copy what I've written its not what the internet is about.
