This is a brief comparison between the Toyota Prado and the 2nd generation 2010 Kia Sorrento. I put this page up so that you can compare purely for personal interest reasons. The 2nd generation Kia Sorento is quite different from the original version and much better targeted in the market. It's logical rivals are the 7 seat Holden Captiva or what ever they call it else where, Ford Territory and even the Toyota Kluger. The new Sorento even comes in 2WD or part time 4WD options! The Sorrento is now an urban bias 4WD with a completely new monocoque body and brings together a host of styling clues from other Kia and indeed Toyota, Honda, Holden, Suzuki and even Lexus. It is quite a good looking car - in a conservative way. You wouldn't pick it as Korean model let alone a Kia based on its past model designs.

The updated interior again mimics existing manufacturers with similarities to Mazda. On the whole better materials make it a nicer place to be in than in past models. The materials are just as good as models from Mazda too. We actually like the look and feel of the Sorento so this a model worth a look if you're shopping in this category. It is competitively priced too. The range of engines includes a LPG version (or gas) powered engine. If this version makes it to Australia it should at least be a decent seller. So if you like the current Kia Sorrento check out your local dealer before they run out of the existing model! KIA claims to have sold over 900,000 of them since the initial launch! |
